Not bad.

Sort of reminds me of the previous generation...WRX...wagon though. But with the new Ford Fusion style grill that everyone is going with (I know Aston did it, but Ford paid for it and has mass produced it).

Much better than the sedan, but overall a bit funky. Reminds me of a slammed minivan for some reason.

And if I stretched the lower intake upwards a tad more, it'll turn into the new Lexus spindle grille....

Every car looks sorta like every other car nowadays...

And for some strange reason, my first reaction looking at the photo yesterday was "Nissan Silvia"

nose looks a lot like the concept which is a good thing. those wheels are circa 2005 trends....

Those are actually Volk C345 cira 2012.

But I think that the whole car doesn't feel 2015 to me, more like a throwback to what the hawk eye GD should be back in '07 ... which is not a bad thing in my eyes.

Rumors, and possible confirmation earlier this year, when the concept car was shown, suggests that WRX (and STI if they are separate models anymore) won't be offered as a 5-door body style.

Frankly, I am hoping that it may give way to a WRX-ified XV Crosstrek.

Rally cars shouldn't be low anyway.

Plus, XV would split some of the fleet sale average calculations toward Light Truck, rather than passenger car, (yes, it is ridiculous, but it is the CAFE law), by having half the turbo Subies being raised ride height.

A cool 3-door shooting brake version of the XV Crosstrek with a 260-300hp FA20DIT + 6MT +DCCD AWD + Brembos/5x114.3 hub/wheel drivetrain, with 6-7" ground clearance, and un-painted plastic bottom edges, and meaty performance tires sounds like fun for real-world SUCKY roads.

Especially with magnetic damping. Even better with cross-linked hydraulic/pneumatic suspension with ride height variability, which does a reportedly great job on McLaren MP4-12C, with no anti-roll bars needed.

Tie all that into DCCD and SI-Drive for a comprehensive vehicle dynamics management system...

I could be interested in a new Subaru again, for the first time in a long time.

I'd love to see a WRX-ified version of this... hood scoop, narrower angry-eye headlights, and a bolder, more vertical grille and fascia, but still with the black bottom edge. (no paint to scrape on parking curbs, or off-road brush and stuff.)

Maybe the fender arches pushed out a bit for fender flares and wider wheel and meaty tire fitment.

But what I would really want to see... 3-door shooting brake lowered roof line.

XV is a 5-door now, like Mini Countryman, and Range Rover Evoque 5-door...

I am thinking something with a lower, flatter roofline and longer side doors, like a Paceman and Evoque 3-door, although maybe with a little less backward rake to the rear end of the roof... to keep the quarter windows and rear tail gate big enough to see something out of.

Maybe somewhere between stock XV, with some WRX cues, and the recent Subaru Viziv concept.

I really hope they aren't dropping the hatch. This is perfect (except we need it in blue)
